Robbing God

“Whosoever thinks he is able to enrich himself with spiritual blessings, to weave a covering of his own righteousness, and make payments of his old debts by a heap of good works, despises Christ’s payment, slights the righteousness of the God of heaven, abuses that Savior who came to knock off our bolts, heal our wounds, and clothe our souls.  He that thinks to enter into heaven, and not by Him, is a thief and a robber; he robs God of the honor of His own constitution and Christ of the glory of His mediatory office, and the right of His purchase.”
